Big Balls plays High Voltage
Big Balls plays High Voltage
BIG BALLS will play AC/DC’s classic debut album, High Voltage, in its entirety marking the 35th anniversary of its release (plus bonus tracks and special guests). BIG BALLS are five Brooklyn indie-rock veterans who came together over their mutual love of Bon Scott-era AC/DC. Fronted by the saucy Aussie export, singer/dancer/multimedia sensation Anna Copa Cabanna (of the popularAnna Copa Cabanna Show series at Joe’s Pub) and featuring the blistering lead guitar of Ray Beyda (The K’s), and the powerhouse rhythm section of Gina Marie Rodriguez (Detroit Cobras, Madam Robot) on bass, Reggie Mental (Spunk Lads) on rhythm guitar, and drummer Tom Pope (Les Sans Culottes). Come hear your favorite early AC/DC classics (TNT, It’s a Long Way To The Top, The Jack, etc.) pumped full of new blood and, well, electrifying energy.
Les Sans Culottes
Les Sans Culottes
Named after the citizen-soldiers of the French Revolution, Brooklyn-based Francophone rockers , Les Sans Culottes,
are known for their high energy, take-no-prisoners live performances. Their music is inspired by French 60's music icons Serge Gainsbourg, Jacques Dutronc, and Francoise Hardy as well as the Kinks and American 1960's girl groups. There 7th cd recording,
Pataphysical Graffiti," will be released this September on Vibratone Records. www.lessansculottes.com

"Brooklyn’s Les Sans Culottes have taken the whole faux-French-band thing pretty far—the group’s live shows are superenergetic, fake-multicultural events. You might not learn anything about French culcha, but you’ll probably hop around like a lunatic." Time Out New York

"The Brooklyn ensemble Les Sans Culottes play raunchy faux-French rock and roll that's both a sendup of and a tribute to the dark tunes of late-period Serge Gainsbourg and punchy ye-ye girl pop." The New Yorker Magazine
Out Of Order
Out Of Order
OUT OF ORDER: this young, hard-hitting, all-girl power trio is steadily building a rabid following via their incendiary live shows and the razor-sharp EPGimme Noise! Delarue from the magazine Lucid Culture commented on their performance at Beefstock IX in 2010: “Out Of Order was the best conceivable headliner the festival could have had, with their ridiculously catchy post-punk songs, their part new wave throwbacks, and part straight-up punk. That a band this smart, fun, and good-looking (not to be sexist, but they dress to kill when they hit the stage) isn’t famous says more about the state of the music business in 2010 than pretty much anything else could."
