New York Funk Exchange
New York Funk Exchange
Combining the talents of Serena Fortier (vocals), Ray Holman (drums/vocals), Matt Fox (bass guitar), Jamey Zebrack (keys/vocals), Matty G (guitar), Mozard Pierre-Jacques (trombone), Mike Farrell (sax) and Nick Martino (trumpet), the New York Funk Exchange was born in the fall of 2007. The NYFE hails from Brooklyn, NY and has been performing their original music live in the North East since that time.

The multi-talented members of NYFE combine the roots of funk, soul, R&B, and jazz with their own unique arrangements and dynamic rhythms. This innovative sound is a result of the band's skillful song writing abilities and the many influences they incorporate into their music.

Serena's soulful vocals are powered by the band's strong rhythm section. Her heartfelt lyrics are separated by inspirational melodies. Each member is a master at their instrument, but all possess the virtue of harmony when playing together.

Each member of the NYFE has a deep respect and enthusiasm for music and its ongoing creative process. Their individual passion and the powerful group energy fuels the excitement that can be found during every live performance, as well as their studio recordings. They are on a collective journey to continuously experience more in every realm of music, from theory to performance.
Heylady
Heylady
Birthed from a shared cab-ride back from JFK, Heylady is a soul/funk sonic explosion based in Brooklyn, NY. Fronted by the earthy, soulful voice of Nina Zeitlin, Heylady consists of Dave Cohen (vocals/keys), Josh Green (guitarist), Michael DeVellis (sax/flute/violin/ewi), Daniel Gould (drums), and Jake Leschinsky (bass). Debuting in 2009, they have since played all over the northeast, sharing the stage with bands like George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Rebirth Brass Band, The Motet, and Breakestra. Following the 2011 release of a self-produced EP, they’re currently working on their first full-length album, infused with vibrant melodies and tight harmonic vocals. Research has shown that consistent exposure to Heylady significantly improves overall quality of life.
Hungry March Band
Hungry March Band
Roaring out of Brooklyn comes the Hungry March Band, NYC's legendary street brass march band in the anarchic style that has become their trademark . Put on your dancing shoes and break out the fancy threads because they've got a party going on - a blazing parade of flesh, blood, steel, brass and wood. They are the music of the people! HMB musical repertoire consists of original compositions written by band members as well as scores selected from our multi-cultural world community. These songs range from New Orleans street bands, European brass traditions, Gypsy/Roma classics, wedding brass bands from India, the jazz world and the global community of NYC. The band is an ever evolving musical experiment influenced and inspired from Brooklyn's backyard with Latin flavor, punk rock noise, hip hop beats and music of the streets.
